any vs-1680 users?

I'm thinking of going for a used roland vs-1680 (or an akai), but i don't know what other users think about the vs-1680. What i'm looking for is an all in one studio with everything I need built in. How is the sound quality and the built in effeks? does it have a tuner? Is it easy to use? How is it, compared to the akai dps 16? or thee akai 12i? Is this the best roland model to go for? help me please?
 
I have an 1880, I like it. FX cards (if you got em) are pretty good, lots of tweakability in them that you do not find with a lot of outboard gear. Mic pres suck (as with any standalone) but I find it to be a very solid machine. Manual on 1880 is pretty good, don't know about 1680. The machine, for simple recording, is very easy to use. Some of the other stuff can get a little tricky until you are comfortable with it (automix, automation, edits, ect.).
 
Hey Dal, I have a 1680, and I am pretty comfortable with it. I am however not a techie, so do you have any tips, and tricks, for using such a standalone unit?
