Hi all,

Some users have reported an improvement to the Leslie effect with tweaking some parameters (this is from the review boards on harmony central), but no one made any mention of what they tweaked.

Yah, I'm sure some wise guy is going to say "Get a real Leslie". Thought I'd pre-empt that with:

"I'm workin' on it, man!"

Thanks,

JD

I had a VK-1000. The best I could do was to run both stereo outs and be careful with the high end. If the effect is too deep it sounded really fake in the simulated high rotor.

That's exactly what I'm talking about - fakeness - especially at high speed. I think the slow speed sounds pretty awesome.

I run the stereo outs right into the board - maybe I'll just try de-emphasizing the highs with the EQ.

Vk8 upgrades

I read a thread in a Yahoo Group about a new OS update and some Leslie
tweeking advice and settings. There are some audio clips to listen to also.
I believe there is a company in Europe called SoundSide that sells a little
software update that tweeks the Leslie settings among other EQ type things.

You will have to join this Yahoo group, but since you are a VK8 owner, it
should be very informative for you.

Here are the links.

Hope this helps.

Check out Native Instruments B4. Whoa!!

Yes - I agree - the B4 kicks. But, it isn't practical for us unfortunately - can't take all that processor power up and the latency is really annoying (as with any VST).
