I've seen the demos and even tried the same when Yamaha showed this at Frankfurt MM.

But I wonder, how good is it really in reality, in useful way?

Beside male/female there is also another female voice coming.

Any thoughts from users

Another software lazy to try is Live 4 from Ableton.

How well is implemented considering the promise of extraordinary creative intuitive tag they highlight?

That Vocaloid stuff doesn't trip my trigger. Too canned sounding and too perfectly 'on pitch' without a shred of personality.

For me though, Live 4 is the bomb. I've just started to explore the possibilities of midi and audio side by side in the Live environment. VSTi's too! A bonanza if ever there was one!

I think the Japanese versions of the Vocaloid software are VERY good... but the English stuff is terrible. It makes perfect sense, because Japanese has vastly fewer sounds (around the order of 40-50) to reproduce than English or any other language of Indo-European descent.

I'm not a user; I'm just going by what my friends have made...

Exactly, my impression. In fact when I've first heard Vocaloid the first word that came to my mind was :STERILE !

I've heard there is a new vocal called Myriam (I think) and just wondered is it any better?

I was really not sure whether Live4 was self contained program or plug-in, I gather it is full self contained program?

If you would have to point some similarity which of main foursome would be closer in visual environment to Live 4? Cubase,Logic,Performer or Opcode? (loyal users of Vision)

What about arrangement tools, does it offer something new?

And what is really substantially different about Live 4?

I had no idea... there is Japanese version at all. (?)

Yamaha announced just 3 official vocals (2 female and Leon Male) Is this latest, perhaps just for Asia?
