Allah, post this in the MP3 Clinic. You'll get more responses there.

Allah Ackbar!!!!

What I hear is, every instrument has the same tone. It's also limited and distorted to death.

The guitar, piano, snare drum and vocal all have the same emphasis in the midrange. So you end up turning up the vocal so loud because it just blends with everything else.

This is a very common problem with people just starting out. There is a certain EQ curve that sounds good to you and you apply it to everything. Trouble is, when you mix it together, everything is trying to take up the same sonic space and you end up with a train wreck.

Your monitoring system is probably lying to you as well. There is no low end at all and it's just thin and distorted. I'm assuming you aren't doing that on purpose. It sounds like it's being played through a clock radio. This is what I would expect if you were monitoring through something with a subwoofer cranked and the treble turned all the way up.

And how do you not notice a plug in on one track let alone every single one and the busses? You obviously didn't try what you had said "tried transient shapers...tried equalizers...tried compression.....limiting with increasingly higher threshholds." or you would have seen this "lame plug in"

Yeah figured I'd lighten the mood after you offended almost everyone with your horribly vulgar childish and ignorant rant but I don't think anyone expected anything more than that from you anyway. You're welcome

what i meant was carving a space for the vocals in the hook without leaving a giant gap in the mix during the verse and without whatever change is made being so drastic that the transition from chorus(hook) to verse is unnatural and unpleasant to the ear of the listener....
In the clip you included, none of the vocals needed 'space' because they overpowered everything else and were too loud, too effected and trebly. They required reduction.

The distortion and the overtrebly twittery hi hat sound make this an unpleasant aural experience.

Too many assumptions based on the genre of the song around here, can't even help cuz ur secret hatred is leaking through ur ears!
How do you know anyone is making assumptions ? How do you know Farview secretly hates the genre of the song ? Did it occur to you that, as you asked for help, he was giving you his honest assessment of the sound of the song he heard that you were asking for help on ? He compared it to things like a clock radio or stuff he's heard that was mixed on monitors with subwoofers and treble all the way up. He didn't say that was what you had done.
There's a subtle difference between saying "it sounds like....." and "this is what you've done......".
For the record, the song itself is OK, it's cute. I Like the song. But this is one of those examples where the way it's presented here doesn't do it any good. By the way, you said in the start

but you didn't appreciate the "any".
Naughty boy !
I don't need any help with this any more i found out the problem....everything's fixed now...thanks for your time everybody!
We don't want thanks for our time. A big fat paycheck will do ! :D

In my "ignorant rant" I associated you with all the bullshit I heard on other forums
So, everywhere you post this, everyone has told you it sounds like shit? And THEY'RE the assholes?
