Could anyone suggest an all in one mixer hard disk recorder, that would work similarly to a DAW?

I'm kind of debating whether to go through the trouble of building a computer system, or if it is possible to find a simple mixing studio like Boss makes.

Any suggestions for under $1000 that woudl allow me good felxibility?

:)

Well, of course sufficient track access, and basically the abiltity to mix, and multitrack like I would using cool edit pro with a DAW.

I'm not really interested in something that has effects with it, because I plan to do all of that mixing selection as I play into it, but what I was really looking for is the multi-tracking ability coupled with the deep editing capabilties of something like cool edit pro, where I am able to pan trakcs and so on, and mix the tracks well.

I hope I'm being clear. :)
