Hey i was just wondering which if any of sonar, soundforge etc
lets you listen to the track while you EQ it apart from sonars audition (that only gets the first second of my tracks????)

i am currently using sonar to record and edit for my whole band, 2 guits, bass and drummer, but i find it doesnt sound anywhere near proffesional, so i spose i need easy but powerful software lol. and some lessons.

lemme know wat u think is best software!

thanks heaps

* Play the track.
* Tweak the EQ.
* Wait a few ms (depending on your hardware)
* Presto!

Cubase will allow you to EQ 'realtime' (you'll hear immediately your EQ 'tweaks') - this is true for other effects in Cubase as well. I believe that Soundforge will only give you the audition and then take time to process the EQ before you can hear the whole thing.

All of Sonar's FX allow you to listen while you tweak. Patch the effect in the track and then double click on it to bring it up. Then hit the play button and make your adjustments while it is playing.

Also, I'm pretty sure you can also adjust the amount of time that the "audition" works for. The default I think is 3 seconds, but it is adjustible in one of the global settings.

In Sound Forge 5 u can tweak EQ and hear the changes in realtime. Can't in Sound Forge XP4.5.

Cheers

BTW in SF5 u can make a slection and then apply your realtime effects, EQ, Acoustic Mirror etc to that selection - it's very handy :)

Vegas allows this but there is a bit of latency. No Big Deal.

thanks for that.

hey all thanks for that.

hehe i bought soundforge 5 yesterday and so far it is heaps cool.
I checked in sonar and yeh i just didnt wait long enough for the whole track to play equalized.

once again, thanks.
