Any SB Audigy 2 users out there know how to load Synth A & B ?

Mine is a OEM Version (for HP) I got used for $40, didn't know it was until I had trouble installing driver,s but that's now resolved. Mine is model SB0359 but tag says Audigy 2 ZS and SB0350, but without MIDI port and 1394 port. A real A2ZS is SB0350. 24/96 recording and playback.

Everything is working great, 2 ms latency recording on some quick testing.
BUT the Soundbank Manager doesn't seem to want to load any SF2 into Synth A or B , so I can use them in my sequencer (JAZZ++) for playback, and REAPER for recording (eventually). I don't want to be locked into the default Windows GM sounds. At least in REAPER, I can use a VST approach and connect a SF, but I only want MIDI for Drums and maybe some Pads, in spots. I do have a MIDI bassline, but that will be re-done with real bass guitar.
Is there another way to load the Synths ?

SOUNDBLASTER FORUM is useless, and maybe someone here has a clue.

Go To Control Panel, then Mutimedia Or ?,open Midi, Configure Single Instrument As Output

Thanks, I remember seeing that when I had Windows 98, but now on XP Pro, I think the options are simply what Default source
  • Windows GM/GS << a.k.a. the sh!t sounding MIDI >>
  • SB Audigy 2 ZS Synth A
  • SB Audigy 2 ZS Synth B
  • SB Audigy 2 ZS GS Sys Soft --- something like that
I'll have to check on my home PC tonight.

Hopefully, I can the option you're stating and targeting a SoundFont (SF2) file.

I'm also, going to check my INI file, if there is one. Maybe something there.

I download the Soundbank Manager from a DL site, not Creative.
It worked by clicking on the BANK "text label" and I could assign what I wanted. This DIDN'T happen on the original version I had. Weird.

So, I put a 8GB GM SF2 into SYNTH A, and Ultimate.SF2 into SYNTH B.

So, in REAPER, I can See and Assign, Windows GM, Creative Synth A and Synth B, and Creative Sys Synth (whatever that is, but it sounded OK:))
4 different sets of sounds. So, I'm happy for now.
