Looking for automated digital mixer with sonar.......... Does not need any hard drive or onboard strorage... Simply a hardware unit for mixing, levels, panning.......

tops 16 channels... I can always bounce tracks...

Looking around any price range?????

I use the Fostex VM200 with great results. Plus it as flying faders and is very easy to integrate into Sonar. Used, they typically go in the $350 range, but this week on ebay, there were 2 that went for about $175. At that price, there is nothing that even comes close with moving faders. Hell, at 3 times that there isn't much with moving faders!

...umh... Digital mixers are waaayyy to high in my pocket :o I'd rather my mouse & keyboard :D But if you wan't "home version" of digital mixers, why don't you try DAW control surfaces...?

Roland U-8 ?

Here...

or
Here...
That's almost $1300

or may be Tascam U-428 ?

Here...

or
Here...
That's about $625
...just FYI...

the best DAW control surface is definitely the Mackie and u don't have it down

but if u want a digital mixer i recommend the Sony oxford it only cost close to 1 million dollars :)

the Tascam US428 controls 32 channels in banks of 8.

i intended to use it for recording outside of the studio, but i dig it so much I use it as a control surface to mix on my desktop.

the USB features worked well too, once I got the SP1 of WinXP.

USB three letters I like.... So I could get automated mixing 8 channels at a time, Usb it to the comp, sync it in sonar.... Sounds nice... Do you think I could chain the automation through my Motif 6 to the computer then to the Mixer.... Three way automation.... ?????? Im trying to keep quality in a small package.... BedRoom Studio
