Mojo,

I think Danny may have had a gold colored tele (painted with the same paint they use for the ES-295 guitar) but it smacks of the worst kind of opportunism to produce a 5000 telecaster with his name on it. I'm sure the man never could afford one of those in his lifetime.

All,

I think someone mentioned David Lindley awhile back. Does he have any 'definitive' recordings? All I've heard of him are the great things he did with Jackson Browne.

By the way, Sonny Landreth is a monster electric slide player.

Sonny Landreth has a new disc out that I think sounds great.

David Lindley is one of the most interesting slide players to me because of his melodic originality - not just rehashed licks over and over. He does have a band besides Jackson Browne. I've only heard one song one time, and it was excellent! Unfortunately, I didn't write down the name, and by the time I went to look for it I had forgotten it.
It still sticks in my mind that it was something like "David Lindley and the BottleRockets". If anybody else knows, please fill in the gaps in my failing memory.
