Taking the slow road
seems to have some better reviews, but no many. is this new?

Wonder if they're in stores to try, i may look around soon.

not cheapest, but a lot less than the rest at about 800

I've tried a few of these kits, and for the money it's the most complex kit in terms of sensitivity, limited sounds but it feels great and stores in a tiny space.

Tbh it depends what you're after. I would go for a TD3 over the HD1 if you want better sounds, much more customisation, and chokable cymbals. The downside is the price, but at £449, the HD1 is much better than anything else in the range like the Simmons kit.

I tried a few last night at GC, i hated all of them, unfortunately. the worst was the vdrums lite, looked the best, but the pads were all very close together and not adjustable enough. and very very limited sounds, i don't want that much reverb on my drums ever, even if this was the middle of the 1980's, i wouldn't want that much reverb.

the motion was too restricted, i didn't feel like i was playing drums, felt the same as those little electronic pads all in one box i saw hanging around for $200. yuck....

and it would be a lot of work to use my roland sampler, sample my real drums, assign to midi notes, etc., to get different sounds, so it's no go for now for me for vdrums.

I'm still not sure what you were after with V-Drums, they'll never sound like a proper kit. Anyway, I feel much more powerful hitting half a tree than a tea coaster.
I'm only looking at the TD-6 for practicing, and maybe a couple of effects onstage.
