Any ideas what would cause this?

I've spent a week trying to figure out what happened to my audio. Whenever I record through my Edirol UA-5 using Cakewalk the sound comes out all muddied. What went in nice and clear comes out without the highs. Kind of like you are listening to it through a wall. After tons of troubleshooting I localized the problem to Cakewalk. I know because I recorded audio in another program and it sounds crystal clear. So I know it's not my input or output. It's something Cakewalk is doing. What could it be? Any ideas??

what cakewalk software are you using? do you have all of the routing properly set up (inputs and outputs)? That is strange indeed

Sounds like you have forgotten about a high-shelved EQ somewhere along the line.
