I found someone online who had a pro tools session of genie in a bottle

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=W8LBHJPC

The first thing i had to do was rename one of the "Genie In A Bottle" files in the root to a .pts file. I had no idea whether it was or not, but otherwise I couldn't read it. What do you know, PT opened it, but then i realised everything in the audio files dir has no extension. Pro tools can't recognise a audio file with no extension. I've tried .wav and .aiff .... any ideas?

Well that was fun, though I think my IQ slipped a few points while I was listening to the vocal track.

Its a mac session. You can ignore the ._whatever files as they are the mac resource forks.

Audacity managed to open the files with no trouble but it wouldn't tell me what format they were. My guess is .aif

thats odd, i tried changing the extension to .aif and pro tools still says they are unreadable. Gives me hope if you got it working. Oh well i guess ill just take it to a mac and try to work out where im going wrong

i renamed one of the files in the root so i could open it...maybe thats where i stuffed up?

Change the name to .ptS instead of .ptF and it should open- its a pre PT v7 fle. The audio files are all sd2- which isn't supported on PC. While the open dialog says it'll automatically converty the audio files for you mine didn't. I quite fooling with it at that point, but the sessio did open- just no audio files associated with the regions.

If you can get to a mac and save a copy as .wav format with PC/MAc compatibility enforced that will be the easiest.

hey - if you get this set up for a PC, can I get a copy of the files? (I have an FTP server)

well i'm running 7.3 in OSx right now, but it won't link to the audio files either...just get the grey regions :(
