Any good literature?

Hungry for any and all knowledge related to audio recording and processing. If anyone can recommend any good sources or books on the subject. Not lookin for anything like pro tools or DAW specific just want to wrap my brain around the terminology and try to understand more about compressors, limiters etc. Thx u for any responses.

A couple of books worth looking at > "Guerilla home recording" , by Karl Coryat"The mixing engineer's handbook" by Bobby Owsinski and if you can find it, "Emergency ! First aid for home recording" by Paul White.
May they serve you well.

I also enjoyed Mixing Secrets for the Small Studio by Mike Senior. Great explanations and a very well-organized book.

I've also read Guerilla Home Recording and enjoyed it a lot. The Owsinski books are supposed to be great; I read his blogs regularly and based on that, I'd say those books are a good bet.
