Any Engl owners/Players?

I have been wanting to try out some of their amps forever. Musicians Friend is carrying them now. I was thinking about picking up a Fireball once I sell my Framus cobra. Any owners/users? Thoughts and opinions are always appreciated.
 
Looks like the Framus is officially sold. Had some time to do some more research....I think I am going to buy the Engl Blackmore model instead of the Fireball.
Does anyone have any experience with Engl amps in general?
 
I haven't owned any or played any, but I heard plenty clips of diffrent models. They sounded killer too.
 
My guitarist owns a powerball and an invader....and out of the two...i think the powerball won me over.
Nice and tight, and the gain, oh let me say, it starts off where a triple rectifier left off!
Needless to say,im thinking about selling my mesa for one.

The invader sounds just as good as the powerball if ya throw some EL34L's in there. Not quite as ballsy as
the powerball with 6l6's...but pretty damn close. He actually threw some 6l6's in the invader and biased it up
and it sounded even better. But due to one post on some forum about how that could ruin it somehow, he put
the EL34L's back in.

I know these werent the particular models you were looking for, but it may help.
Also both heads are solidly built and come with built in noise reduction!
Not once have either of them gave him any troubles what-so-ever.

Also a few days ago, musiciansfriend had a scratch and dent sale on a powerball for like $1300,they might still have it.
 
I have never played through one nor do I know anyone who owns one.
 
my guitarist just got the steve morse sig. model
it is quite possibly the finest sounding guitar amp ive ever heard...
he's had the old marshalls,mesa-boogies,has a v.h.t.-clx full-stack,etc.
and none of these can hold a candle to the engl in either clean or dirty tones
i instantly heard tones from all those old 70's-80's albums i grew up with!
the only thing he doesnt like about it....the blue background on the control face.....you know those metal guys :cool:
