Hi All -

I am seeking drawings/specs for moderately priced wall construction to provide to a landlord for a proposed music school that will meet basic office commercial code, but also provide moderate isolation for 1:1 lesson rooms and couple of band rehearsal rooms that will be more or less-back-to-back. Does anybody have anything like this or - links to same?

Any help is appreciated!

Go to US Gypsum's site. lots of diagrams and test results.

Essentially you will want stud walls that go all the way to the deck above.

Best isolation will come with double stud walls, fluffy insulation in the airspace, two layers of gypsum board, all cracks caulked and NO penetrations such as outlet boxes, etc. on the wall between the spaces.

Going down from there you can do a single stud wall, filled with fluffy insulation, resillient channel on one side, and two layers of gypsumboard and all the other instructions about caulking and penetrations.

Where are you located? Codes vary from area to area.
