Has anyone used the Digitube? Is it the same preamp as the Blue Tube? I am considering these as a Direct box for Bass and/or snare & kick. I'm getting an Allen &Heath Mix Wiz 16, Have a Pendulum MPD1 and am looking for something less expensive to complement them. Thanks, Don

it's the same preamp as the BlueTube except it has some added goodies (3-band sweepable EQ, an insert, 24-bit digital outs) - it's only 1 channel though (BlueTube has 2 channels)

I have a BlueTube and it kills as a DIbox for bass (and guitar!). I've also used it on drum overheads (it's ok - a bit noisy) and bass drum (love it!!)

Pratt - how about vocals?

Pratt,

How did you like your Blue Tube for vocals? If it was noisy on drum overheads, I'm assuming it's too noisy for vocals.

hmmmmm.....

I haven't used it for vocals, YET....so I can't really comment

you can keep the noise down by keeping the tube drive down to a minimum...this is what I do when using for overheads...but if you want a super-quiet preamp for vocals - I would think that there are better choices...but for everything else it's great

Its fine on vocals smooth as smooth can be Ill reccomend them on guitars and bass direct in. I use the dmp2 for overheads because Im using the blue tube on snare and bass drumm.

Agree...

I use the Bluetube on vocals as well. Very nice sound for the price but you do have to watch the tube drive unless you are going for that type of sound.

I usually blend in just a little drive to warm up the track a bit. I've had good experiences.
