I just bought my 2nd charvel to make my collect about 8 or so any body got any charvel guitars?

I personally do not like Charvels, but I used to play with a guy that had no less than 12 of them. Some of them were supposedly rare and/or top-shelf San Dimas models. One of them was a neck-thru which was actually pretty cool.

Looks like the tone to die for might end up over here.

I don't own any but there's a pawn shop around here that has quite a few of their single pickup strat-esque models.
I feel like they all came all from the same leather clad aging 80's rocker who brought them in to slink back into whatever coke-fueled nightmare he came from.
I like the straight-ahead vibe of them. I'm just not into floyds :o.
Really cool finishes on them though. I think one might have been a warren demartini model.

Hi gerggles!

I'm not a fanatic, per se, but I dig the shit out of my San Dimas japanese reisssue. H-H, Floyd, no pickguard, snow white with a maple neck and fretboard... The only thing that sucks about it is they, inconceivably, put the truss rod at the heel end of the (unfinished) neck, so if I need to make the occasional seasonal tweak I have to pull the neck off.

I have the Charvel's brother, a Jackson Custom Soloist from about '87 or '88. It's a great guitar for sure, but looks dated and made for a specific genre of music. By far the best playing guitar I own but not the best sounding overall...LP gets that. Also had a Charvel model 3 from around the same era that I sold to a friend who still has it.

I have a 89 charvel model 6. I love it! its in mint shape and I"m the original owner. I also have a model 1 or 2 from the same era. The charvettes and charvels after say 93 are not worth collecting. I'm still on the hunt for more charvels myself.

If you live anywhere near the Hollywood, CA area, I'm sure you'll have no trouble building your collection.
