I walk the line
Has anyone used both the 3Q and either the One or the Six?

I'm a bottom feeder, but I'm wondering if the 3Q is 'Meek-y' enough to be worth messing with.

I got the twinQ with the IRON switch,VC3Q and the 3Q ..... if you don't purchase the 3 I will.

Man, seems like you and I are always after the same things, except that you always end up with them. I can't decide if we're alot alike, or if you're just pickin' on me.

So, if you've got all of those Meeks, why do you need another one? Do you like them that much?

And, back to the question, is the 3Q as Meek-y as the higher end ones?

How's that bass V-amp workin' out for ya?

The 3Q not quite like the +$900. units with the signature Joe meek flavor, it's actually clean or I guess I should say transparent. but it's kinda cool.
It is a lot quieter than it's predecessor the VC3Q but then the VC3Q has more of that Joe Meek-y Character.

That bass V-amp is kinda cool - has great potential . Did you find one or similar?

It's just that the greatest minds think alike.

Hey, I told him I'd give you first crack at the 3Q. Transparent is not what I was looking for. I wanted something with some serious character.

And I picked up a used Behri BDI 21 for twenty bucks, and I really like it. I'm not really into the heavily distorted bass (which it will do), and on the cleaner settings, this will give it just a little something. Still wouldn't mind having the V-amp, but it's now farther down on the list. I'm looking for another cheap guitar V-amp2, so that I don't have to pack mine upn and take it back and forth. I really do like that thing. What can I say, until I have a place where I can crank an amp, it serves my purpose.

Glad you were able to get a good deal on an amp sim.

The optical compressor of the 3Q is all of the magic that comes with this unit but it's a good one. Bell shaped EQ section and again a very transparent preamp rounds out this channel strip.
Wish it did have the *Iron* button function - but probably would fit in a half rack..

OK, by 'good', are you now saying that the comp is very 'Meeky'? I'm so confused... :o

It's an optical compressor that have a sound of their own. It's the preamp that clean. The Q3 just doesn't have features that I like that is available on TwinQ.

Why don't you go for this 3Q and if you aren't satisfied ... I will purchase it from you ... that way you'll at least get to audition it.

I think you'll like it.
