I just replaced the tuners on my axe with some Shalers(sp?) They were bigger than the ones that were on there and so I had to drill the holes bigger. I put some new strings on there and now the thing is having some tuning issues. Now the axe had 9's on it and the new strings are 10's. My question is, could these tuners be the cause of my problem or should I recheck the intonation because of the new strings? The tuners are tight so I dont see how they can be the cause, but you never know. Any thoughts??

Changing from 9's to 10's has in all probability messed with your intonation, and maybe neck relief as well.

is it a ....

strat if it is purchase the LSR roller nut and when you have it installed they will have to do a whole setup with intonation anyway and you'll never go outta tune trust me along with th schallersare righteous .....

Tuners are not gonna cause your guitar to have tuning problems (except for really crummy ones) so I'm sure it's intonation changes from the different guage strings.

Thanks guys
I didnt think that it was the Schallers, they seem like great tuners. I had just recently set the intonation on this guitar base on the 9's. Also I am sure that the string length has changed slightly since I had to drill the holes out. I will work on it tonight.

String length wouldn't change the tuning 'cause the only part that matters is the speaking length of the string which is between the nut and bridge and that hasn't changed. So I think it's all cause of the gauge change

You haven't said what kind of guitar it is or the type of bridge.
If it is a strat with the traditional system you will have altered the tension on the springs and find that it has lifted which will alter the string length quite significantly, plus raise the height, but that should be apparant at a glance.
Even in a fixed bridge tail-piece setup such as a Gibson 335 the different string gauge will have some effect on the saddle settings plus the relief on the fretboard.
