edit: Please feel free to say if this is not your cup of tea or if this has too much of a raw sound or if you think this is a crappy take/genre. Any honest opinion is welcome. :)

While reviewing other's music is all cool, I'd don't want to focus too much on how my guitars never sound anything like I want. So I'll post this here hoping someone will like it.

Guitar sound, Playing, Bass, Drums, review all. :)

Have Fun. Thanks for listening. :)

edit: Who thinks I should dial down the toms a little? Maybe EQ the kick differently. Maybe EQ bass differently, too?

I like the guitar melody that comes in at :30, and the way it works with the other guitar part through the song. Not sure about the high pitched synth (think it's a synth) in that section from :30-1:00. That short phrase at 1:44 sounds cool the way it totally changes direction. More of that type of thing would be good I think. Some of Madmush's punk tunes, which I like, sound similar to this - I almost expected his voice to kick in.

That's the melody part of the song. :) The one-measure-6-hit pause between verses was something I just cooked up on the spot while trying to complete my grunge, equipment-less, garage band, sound.

The synth is there to give it the produced sound to keep interest. So when old timers come over and listen to a Christmas Hymn that they sang all their lives sitting down calmly, they don't totally get the negative loser-younger-disrespectful-towards-church-boy image of me. :D

I'm a big fan of that 1:44 bit. And that was doubled two octaves higher so it really gave it a heavy sound. :)

Never heard of Madmush or no one. But I guess it's a compliment to sound like a real punk band??. I would think so. :)

How's about the crazy toms on the drums? :)

Thanks for listening.

I like the overall sound, and feel of the tune. I don't find any problems with the drums myself. They seem to fit well. The synth at :45 comes in a bit loud. Maybe tone that down.
Other than that, it seems to flow along pretty good, and be cohesive. Most of the levels seem to be pretty good throughout.

Guitar sound - Sounds good, has a low distortion that gives it some bite but still retains clarity.
Playing - great, no problems there
Bass - not getting a whole lot but then again I'm listening on my PC speakers.
Drums - very cool, great syncopation between melody playing and drums.
This, to me, has a cool 80's British flavor to it, melody wise.
Mix - solid, everything seems to blend well with space of its own.
Good one.... :D

Argh!!!! You must frist spread some reputation around before giving it to <name> again! For all you guys! This is just cool points not peanut butter!

Dogman - I think soon, the synth will be a thing of the past then! :)

ido1957 - Thanks man. That's very nice of you to say it's well mixed.

I kinda feel good knowing that all the time I spent here listening to different mixes and talking tricks might have actually made me learn a thing or two.

Hey Big Bubba!
Very, cool intro riff, nice sounds on the drums and guitar.
Then definitely has a chirstmas vibe going.
Yeah the mix sounds good to me, can't really pick out anything to recommend, nice work ;)
Oh yeah, and just out of personal preference, I like when songs have a "raw" feel.

SnakeDog5050 - Hey man, how's it been? Haven't been around here for a while. :) Just been busy I guess. Oh, this was one of the primitive raw Amplitube presets. So I'm using amplitube fairly decently now!

Anyhoo, thanks for listening. I was trying to go for a more produced feel yet heavy but in the process of recording it, I decided that I wanted to go in the raw garage band sound direction.

I've been trying to find something new to play these days. Been doing some electronic/techno music lately. And it's easier to do, 'coz you don't "mess up" a recording. You just change whatever you don't wanna keep. :)

Thanks again! :)

Sure Mr. Bubba!
Yeah it's been busy over here too. Things have slowed down a lot, I went from like 1 or 2 songs a week last fall to 2 total songs this year so far. I'm looking at getting a better guitar now so I know I'll be addicted again soon :)

Yeah your amplitude presents are sounding good. I still mainly use that program too, it's the best option for me at the moment and I like a lot of the sounds I get.

Techno? When we going to have the big bubba techno dance party in the mp3 clinic? :D I've done some techno too, really I can't decide on a genre, I'm all over the place. Fun stuff ;)

Well, I'm also thinking about selling the Squire and buying a Strat or maybe even a Gibson. The PRS that I really like is $2,000 so that's out of the question.

About techno, it's more electronic. Sure some techno too. I think I have a trance track. I guess when the storm on this thread cools off, I'll submit one of the technos for review. :)
