I like the groove of this...The intro is great!

I think your vocals do this one justice! The mix sounds good over here, but I'm in lo-fi so I know you'll get better feedback from others...

Pretty cool song. Kind of fits the "halloween"/October theme...:)

Nice job!

good song beez.. The vocals grew on me as it went on.. that solo around 2:50ish may have been a bit crisp.. my only suggestion is that during the chorus, the vocals and drums sound like they want heavy rhythm to go with them.. the vocals almost sound too heavy in that part for the music your singing over.. It maybe would be cool to have the chorus heavy with distortion and then go into the clean verses? I don't know just ramblin.. I'm not crazy about the drum sounds, mostly the ride cymbal. I am not happy with my own drum sounds either..

this is a good tune beez! For some reason it reminds me of Maiden, but I don't know why.. It really doesnt sound anything like Maiden.. maybe old Maiden?

yeah, this one groove's nicely!!! another winner. the vox seems a tad to loud, but im listening in can's, so that might be it.

very cool!!!!!!!

peace

Thanx for listening,guys!
Well,BLACK SABBATH,theres an E-D-C in the chord progression, which describes everything Maiden ever did!
I absolutely agree about a heavier guitar in the chorus, and I tried, but couldn't get the right sound.I desperately need a new guitar processor.I will probably take your advice and revisit this,if I can find the right sound.
I hear ya on the drum sounds, though I'm not sure that the ride is the worst of 'em!
Rick, you're prob'ly right about the vox levels.I'll check it out!

I think the song itself is strong and well performed. The recording though does sound a little processed/canned/closed.

One thing that immediately caught my ear were the cymbals. Panning cymbals off is kind of cool, but full on L&R panning is kind of weird...like the listener is sitting on the drummers lap...also the cymbal sounds were a little too distinct (maybe just the levels could be more consistant).

I like the bass and the way it sounds with the kick...I think the bass riff is pretty cool!

The vocals do work! Maybe a little dry but I like the doubling.

I think what this is missing overall is glue...something to tie it all together. It's pretty dry...maybe some reverb is in order?

The guitars were ok but...well to be honest I didn't like the guitar sounds very much. That's not to say your playing wasn't good though!

Slackmaster 2000

Very cool tune The drums were too far back and the lead jumps out forward to much. I like this one.

Matt,

Great tune. I would bring the drums up in the mix if it was me. Also, the lead could go down a touch too. I agree with a previous post too. A little reverb added to the mix could really bring this song to life.

Keep on rockin.

Reverb, huh?Well,I'm all for that!I'm overly causious about reverb!
Some say add reverb till it sounds good, then back it off a bit.I probably take that too much to heart!
Slack,I agree about the guitar sounds! Not only could I use a new processor(mine was mediocre in 1992),but a new guitar(I have two totally bastardized Fender behemoths)wouldn't hurt!
I will listen, and revisit the cymbals!I tend to visualize the drum kit as if I'm looking at the drummer from the audience perspective(crash cymbals on either side, ride way over to one side, hihat way over on the other side, etc.),seems logical, but maybe not the best way for the listener.
Thanx to all for listening, and I'll try to use your ideas for a better mix!

Really like some of the chord progressions there. Nice.
Vocals are fine, some reverb and/or delay might make them fit in a bit better.

As other said, the lead git is quite loud for sure. Cool playing though!

Yeah the panning on the cymbals is a bit wide, can't do that with drum machines. At least not in a rock context.

Rhythm guitars. I like the sound of them, but seem a bit veiled. Need a touch of top end and/or bit of bass reduction at whatever frequency it is that works in the mix.

Nice tune, few tweaks here and there and your done!

I agree with pretty much of the above. my nit picks are the buzz you hear in the intro guitars....and I could do without the multitracked vocals. Also, I'd break up the gtr you got going all the way thru the song. If you aren't keen on the sound, you get tired of the same gtr sound all the way thru.
the lead is a little fuzzy too.

nice playing and good song, are the best points.

 cool stuff beelzebubbababy

The rhythm of bass + drums was Zeppelin-y... like Communication Breakdown, or something... very cool...

I liked the dynamic of the solo vs. the rest of the music; it took the song to a different place... the tones aren't exactly my favorite (yet), but they sounded good (lead guit vs. rest of the mix) in contrast to each other... this needs some more definition/contrast between instruments, and some highs in the mix... cymbals up maybe?

The rhythm of this song rules... now, let's get that thing pristine clean

hey beezel, what's up man. Nice tune, and done very well,
matching up your style and the tune. I like it, lots.

I'm good Dan,thanx for asking!And you?
p.s.thanx for listening, and glad you liked it!

Yo, Beezy. Nitpicks are: the recording sounds kinda "veiled" or something. Not sure what to suggest to fix that, though. Also, I'm not fond of the "direct-in-fuzztone" sound of the lead, but opinions are like assholes :D.

My cat still likes Dentistry better, but she's evil so that's no surprise.

All cats are evil!Mine are plotting something as we speak!
I really must stop with these conventional sounding songs, and get back to the drilling without novacane instrumentals.
Tell your cat to keep its eye out in the clinic!

Nice arrangement and mode. I like the tune. The tweaks you might wanna try have all been talked about. I want to talk about something that lights up my engines big time... The sound of the wood stick on that ride cymbal about 6 inches from the bell excites me. It may be a little much for some folks but I can really feed off that. I did a stint with two drummers for a while and was always right between them, we`d be glidin and drummer "x" would go to tangin that stick while me or the other went climbing and it`d be like a tappin' orgasm. Mercy man!!! how`d you get that with midi? I`d really apprec' a tip :)

Thanx Toki987.I believe that ride came from my old Alesis HR16,but it might have been from PCDrummer Pro.I cant recall which.
Thanx for listening!!

Cool tune!
I liked the vibe,good groove.
The bass was really nice, how did you record it?

The guitar playing was great, you really know how to shread an axe man!:D

Really enjoyed it.
Thanks,
Pete
