Another song from the Hardcore/Metal band I recorded, critiques?

Hey guys,
Here is another track from the same rediculous band that I recorded two weeks ago. This mix sounds a little different from the earlier one, and I think a little better. I'm still not liking the music, but perhaps I can get some comments on the mix anyway!
By the way, this song is called "Kate Moss Kicks the Habit"

Kind of funny tune. Not bad sounds. Seems to be sort of cluttered at times. That might just be the way they play....Most of the sounds are pretty good, but when they are doing all the palm muting, and drums are busy, seems to build up a bit in the lower regions. For the most part, the guitar tone is actually pretty good.
I smiled while listening. It is entertaining, at least....

What does the band think of the mix?

I mean, everything is pretty much right there and for the music they're playing, without knowing what they're after, I'd guess they're pretty happy with it?

Sounds rather well rounded to me.

That's funnny you should ask that....The band thought it sounded awesome right after tracking it. (It sounded pretty pathetic, actually). :D
At this point these guys love it, and they think I am some kind of professional audio engineer and that I know all the "secrets" or something.....haha, that makes me feel pretty good. :cool:
I know it's not a perfect recording but at the price point I work at the bands are usually very happy, and that makes me feel good about it ultimately.

If they're happy and you can live what what you gave them for the price they're paying, win/win.

I mean, from what I'm hearing, I don't think you're gonna have to hide from your peers as though you didn't do a professional job for these guys.

The main thing is if they feel you've recorded what they want coming out of a cars CD player.

Yeah, I'm pretty confident that these guys will be happy with what I do for them. And in the end, that is all that matters. I'm still at that phase where every mix takes me a few trial and error sessions to get right. Sometimes I still overlook things that just smack other people in the face when they listen. That's pretty much why I'll post this stuff sometimes. I always appreciate the input.

Good song. it's kind of thrashy, but doesn't sound bad. Better than a lot of stuff.

Good recording of the band, they suck as bad as a lot of other stuff.

I think it's sounding just fine dude. It's a good clean recording. Even at 128k it has a lot of sound. I'd say the drums a re the best part to me. But the break at around 1:30, really sounds good. The rest of teh song is so-so. Not a bad tune, but it's just kind of weird. And at 2:20 where it slows a bit, it really has a cool vibe. I think they should be happy with this, unless it started out sounding like Godsmack, and you messed em up.... :p
