Unpossible!
Anybody want to critique this? I didn't do the music, so there wasn't a whole lot I could do with it. I tried to pump it up a bit and balanced out the eq to give it a bit morer depth and power than it had. Also, this is rap so there are some possibly offesnsive lyrics, so please be aware before listening.

Thanks!

i like it. sunds good..the reverb is kind of weird at the beggining but you get used to it and it actually fits in after you get used to it..or it may just be me...but overall its a pretty devent job. :D

Yeah, the reverb was done before the intro vocals were there, I still need to do something with that intro.

Thanks!

It's good. I think the vocals can be a little drier. I'm digging the beat, but I would like to hear a snare with more crack in it. If you can, listen to "Serial Killer" by Snoop Dogg (It's from the Doggystyle album). I hear that snare in this tune. Sounds pro, though.

Thanks Rami.

Yeah the music was just a stereo backing track, so I couldn't do a whole lot with it, but I do agree with you. Couple other things I'd change as well, but there's nothing I can do about that.

The backing track is way too bass heavy for me...but I may be missing the sub in my headphones :)

Lots of good things going on with the vocals. I like the panning effect - three really apparent spots in the spectrum. The echo really beefs up the whole vocal track. I'd be more than happy with this if I was the rapper. Real pro sounding to me...:cool::cool::cool:

Good job NL5. I think this turned out better than the last rap number you posted. Love the spread of the vocals and am liking the delay/echo, but might like to hear it toned down just a tad. Smooth.

I don't think I was offended...should I have been?

Ah, I didn't realize that. You did a great job then.

Ido, I'm trying to understand that statement. If you're MISSING the sub, would it sound LESS bass heavy???

I had to ask because I read that over and over and couldn't figure it out.:)

Well I guess the thought was that maybe if I had a sub to run through it would smooth out some of the excess bass. In my headphones it just sounds like a too loud, flappy bass/kick.

You did a really good job given the restrictions.
The wide panning of the vocals creates a image in my head of rappers very far apart on stage - not really in dialogue. As a result I'd like the panning a little less severe - not much, just a little closer.
I don't have much experience with rap - too much super refined flour in my bread I suppose, so pay scant heed to my crits.
The story does draw from all over doesn't it.

Thanks guys!

I think I'll bring in the backing vox a little (pan, volume, and the "hall" effect). I'll repost when it's done.

Thanks!

Hi, NL5!

Nice Job.
Overall mix sounds very well balanced .I don´t listened the previous versions (and don´t have any rap recording here to compare),but sounds pretty good to me.Vox recording (and the way you mixed it, the "stage" of voice)is better than what I use to hear on this "dry kinda" style.

You put some extreme limiting, seems a little "over".

Overall sounds good. A little hot-spitty around 4 kHz - just a little.

Comparing the two the second has more going on, but the first one stands up equally well. Prefer # 2 overall though because of its additions....

Hmmmm, I just backed off of the hall reverb a bit, panned the BGV a bit less, and lowered their volume by a db. Otherwise, it should be the same.
