Nak, thanx alot buddy. I like you when you drink.:)

Variaxman, I always appreciate your comments, coming from a guit-maestro like yourself.

Supercreep, I hear what you mean about something strumming or moving the beat a bit more like a tamborine. I think I hesitated to do that (i actually did a clean guitar track but didn't use it) because it's already verging on middle-of-the-road-ness in the verses. So i wanted to not get too far away from a more raw 4 piece band sound. But I hear it too. Thanx for listening and commenting with so much detail.

True, thanx alot. I'm glad you're back around here listening again. We missed you most of the winter.

LOL - you're a 1-piece band with a 4-piece sound!

Hehe...the magic of electricity.

Calwood, thanx for trying, man. Soundclick, and especially it's player, is very moody. Thanx for the comments on "Scars", though. That is the oldest song on my page (I think it's at the bottom), about 2 years old. While I'm not ashamed of the song, I should probably take it off my page until I re-do it because I was much less experienced in all aspects of recording, from writing to mixing. I'm certainly no expert now, but I have trouble listening to anything of mine that's more than a few months old...hehe. :)

Rami,

I have a computer again, after the sledge-hammer accident, :D and some decent sounding monitors.

I am happy to be back listening again!!

true :)

Yeah RAMI, I was listening to this again. I like some of the comments about how a raw BOC feel might be cool. I think maybe nastifying the rhythm electric might do the trick. Maybe thickening it up, recording a few guitar takes over what you already have and doubling up at the sections between verses might sound cool, then go back to what you have during the verses so it doesn't interfere with the vox.
I really dig the chorus vocal sound too btw, the backup vox are cool.

Wow that's the cleanest and clearest that I've heard your drums recorded. Have you changed something - or is it my imagination? Great vocals too - you're harmonies are getting more complex each time - very nice. Then you go and put a bunch more cool guitar stuff in there and solo right out. Everytime I think I've heard my favorite RAMI song you just put out something even better - how do you do it man! Very Nice !

Good mix. Really nice arranging at 2:20, with the BG vocals and contrasting sound in the arrangement there. I agree that a more raw sound, mainly in the drums, would suit the song well.

Hey Ido and Tim. Thanx alot for the listen and the nice words. I have to say that I'm not at all happy with the final product of this. I have to re-mix or maybe re-play the drums. I got lazy and pressed record for the drum track without really fine tuning my drums and I think I'm paying the price now, especially from the boxy snare. I made it worse by doing the beginner cop-out of trying to drown it in reverb...I should be ashamed of myself...But I'm not....because home studio time is free and I can try it all over again. :p :D
Ido, thanx for the comment on how clean and clear the drums sound. I used a different micing configuration that I really like alot. It would have been perfect had I taken the time to get my kit sounding good...thanx alot.

Just re-mixed it...In case anyone jumps into this thread for the first time, I re-did it based on most of the advice I got here. I'm still not 100% happy, but at least I can live with it.

Drums sound solid like usual. Has a real raw production value I like alot. That chorus is real catchy, ill have that one in my head for sure. I'm only listening on headphones so im afraid any mix advice I could give would be totally off. Everything to me sounds pretty well balanced. Great backups at like 1:20. Liked it alot man sorry I couldn't be any real mix help.

Take care

Well, I never heard any problems with the first mix, but I still dig the tune. I really like your bass playing. it sits like a good bass player, not a guitarist.

In listening to the 2 mixes, one right after the other, the second seems a bit heavy in teh bottom end. The first mix has more punch in the drum. The second is a bit too low end heavy, in my opinion. The kick in the second mix is kind of mushy, due to too much low end. I like the tone of the drums better in teh first mix. They have a more natural sound. It helps teh vocals to sit better in the tune. (not sure what all you did to the second one...drums are the thing I noticed...)
Those are my bitches/tips...for what they are worth. :o
I like how the vocals are in the first mix. they have a more full tone.

Awesome! Why aren't you on the radio again RAMI????
You guys have such good ears, I hear that first mix and it sounds perfect to me, the second mix sounds perfect yet people find minor things to adjust with them. I guess some people have better, more experienced ears for that stuff, but to a casual listener people probably won't notice. I know you'd like to perfect it, but I guess what I'm saying is that you can't really go wrong at this point. ANYWAY, sorry for the little mix help I DID love the song :)
