Great tune Jay. It's familiar ( like MTB) but has lots of the band's touch that makes it original. I really like the sound of the drums and the smooth leads on this one. And it has that signature strong story that I like about your work.
The mix sounds good to me.....

:D:):D:)

Good song and a cool arrangement-you gave a honky tonk feel to it that modern country doesn't have these days. Besides Marshall Tucker there is a bit of Waylon in the feel of the song, but with a better variation than Waylon's style. Is there a steel guitar in there? It sure gives a good effect to the song-everything sounds good so far to me....

Realy good - the pedal or slide in the intro sounded a little distant though.
All that was said before is right - it's a bit of a lost style at present - bring it back!

Cool song. Song has a good quality to it. The lead behind the chorus has a reall cool verb on it. :)

Sounds really cool.

The voice sounds the kind of song well.

Lead at 2:00 is really cool.

That was my dobro....I did not want it to be to overbearing and laid it back a bit....may bring it forward some now....thanks for the comments guys.

Ok....did a remix....brought the dobro up a bit, pulled the vocals down a bit and did some general tweaking......tell me what ya think.:D

This is one of the best recordings I've heard here in a while. I always love your voice, it's one of the fullest voices I've ever heard. The instumentation, arrangement, and panning are great. Very cool, Jay.

My girlfriend heard the first few lines from the other room and said "That's got to be JPW".

Cool........
I bet if MTB put out a new CD this is what it would sound like.
I was a big MTB fan many years ago.

This mix is better yet, all the instruments are very balanced, the dobro is well defined and the vocal is excellent. When I attempt to write a country song, I will look to you're songs for inspiration and how to make it sound authentic and right!
