Hey everyone, I have been watching this forum for a few weeks now. I had been a live sound guy for 9 years, and in the last year joined the air force. I still run a small live sound rental and install company on the side, but I have more and more situations come up where I need to record, from live to bedroom to studio (not to mention recording is something i have always been interested in).

I have an x32 (don’t judge me I’m not proud) a laptop running windows 8 with 8 gigs of ram with USB3.0, Reaper and Audition for daw.
I have a good mic selection and feel like I’m pretty good capturing audio, however I have no clue what I’m doing when it comes down to working through the Daw and post producing the recordings. Again I’m a live guy and a little delay at the right points and some reverb is all I ever use for FX. Any tips or reference would be a lot of help.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Ben,

The magic is in the doing. Just start. Keep it simple. Helps if you develop a flow chart and keep notes on paper. Reaper has good instructions and has a user forum.
