My name is John, and I've just started doing some home recording and joined up here to learn more. My goal is to have fun producing background tracks to play with and involving my oldest son who plays keyboards. I have a fairly basic setup to get our feet wet with and see if we want to take this further later. My son is 15 and I hope he will take a real interest in recording, as he makes videos and the like and is pretty good at it. At any rate, it's a fun way to spend time with him.

You're in the right place. I started doing the same thing with my son at that age. He's 33 now. Where did the time go???

Welcome to the ZOO Travst ..... Don't feed the monkeys your fingers! :D

It is indeed a good book. But after being really readable for the first 100 pages, suddenly my mind snapped shut and would take no more in. It was like rolling a snowball uphill in the desert. So I'm reading John Major's autobiography instead.

Welcome aboard. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. Everyone's friendly here. Well, Greg's friendliness is debatable.

EDIT: Looks like you have a pretty good setup. And Reaper is an excellent program.
