I know I posted a similar question a couple weeks ago (not trying to junk up the board), but now I'm looking for a little more detail about wire gauges for different applications. I'm probably going to buy some bulk cable (canare or gepco are looking like winners) to make a couple different styles of wires; some for my patchbay. some other inner studio connections (maybe inputs to my powered monitors from the board) and some 20'-30' mic cables. I'm wondering if 24 gauge wire is what I want to go with. If I'm understanding correctly, 22 gauge is usually used for longer applications (live snakes) and 26 gauge for mostly patch bay stuff. Is this correct or am I a little foggy on this.
