I just purchased a firewire 410 for my second computer. this is a question that has been frequently asked all around the forums; i'm trying to record with my at-3035 connected into the mic 1 input on the 410. the control panel only shows the levels for Left when i plug into mic 1 input. and when i plug the mic into mic 2 input, the control panel shows the levels for Right. what am i doing wrong here? i never experienced such problems with my motu 828. ;)

hey studiomaster, i see you decided to go with the 410 how do you like it so far? Since the mic is a mono source the mixer is only going to show 1 channel rather than L&R (if that's what your asking).

Not really...when i record in Cubase, i only get one side recording. either left or right.

That's standard with most interfaces since your microphone sends a mono signal you will only get 1 channel that records if your recording in stereo (left or right but not both). Try recording your vocals in mono which is ideal and the most common way we all record our vocals and you should be fine.

If however you are recording in mono and are only hearing your vox in the left or right channel check all your panning in cubase and with your 410 mixer.
