What does THIS button do?
I got a quick recording, sorry for the mess up and sorry for the bad playing but it was like 1:30am and I can't be too loud for too long. Anyway, this is the first real thing I have done with my Pacific. This is mixed, with compression on the kick and toms and EQ on the overheads and kick. I use my CAD pro-7 mic kit, which is cheap I know, but I think it gets the job done well. I didn't mic the snare, the overheads pick it up pretty well, I think.

Anyway, here is the link.

Let me know what you think of the recording...

Not bad. I'm really hearing lot of the room, though. That can be a good thing, but here it's just overwhelming. If you put up something to soak up a few (not all) of the reflections, youd have alot more definition.

How many mics are in that pack, BTW?

7.. 2 OH, a snare (which im using on my first tom), 3 toms (for the other 3 toms) and a kick. I have my kit in the corner of the room right now.. do you think If I set it up more in the middle it will help the room sound a bit? It's a fairly big room and there's carpet on 3 of the 4 walls and most of the ceiling to absorb some sound. There's also a lot of stuff in the room (a computer, couch, chair, v-drums, tv, refrigerator n whatnot)

Yeah, move it out towards the middle a bit. The more I listen, the more I think the overheads are too loud. If you have a space between two toms, you could have one mic share the toms. Then you would free up a mic for the snare. I think you're trying to have the overheads make up for the lost volume on the snare and that's causing too much ambience.
