Hey guys there's one of our songs! Our name is VENEJER... we wrote and recorded the song. We are from South Florida, and we're gonna rock your a$$es!

I'm Guitars and back Vocals.

We are using the ROLAND Si-24 Pro studio package.. which brings the Si-24 interface and E-Logic software. BIG sound for Small money. And AKG, and shure mikes.

We are pretty happy with the sound, guitar, bass, drums and vocalwise, but Still some I would be happy if you would give some feedback, positive or negative, either one is perfect This is the latest song we have recorded, I'll ask NL5 too see if he can put up some more..but they don't sound ass good as this one ... we are learning everyday.

So listen to it and tell me what you think! Thanx in advance.

listened to Colours of the Fall - very nice. the guitars I like very much, they have a real bite and kick to them. the vocals are maybe a bit too far back in the mix, but I'm listening on a crappy computer speaker at work so maybe it's fine.
also, is it just me or is the band playing slightly out of time in the breakdowns?
good song and generally well produced I thought.

I'l listen to the other one now and let you know what I think o' that . . . .

I can see why you like "weak" if it's you opn guitar - that's some silky fretwork :D , but you're right, "weak" is the best one, or at least the one I like the best. I'll be honest and say that this is not really my type of thing, but you guys have a decent sound and you seem fairly tight as a band. the songs don't really JUMP out at me right now (although I like the guitar hook on "weak"), but if you keep writing, your songwriting skills will improve.

just curious - do you write as a band, or is there a main songwriter who brings in material?

First thing I think is the drums could use some compression, they're a little out of control level wise.. Vocal doesn't jump out too much, could also use some compression and a bit of high end boost. I'm only listening on small headphones now, but I couldn't hear any bass at all! That might need to come up if it's there..

Vice; is the snare panned hard right? or is that just my headphones, vocal seems kind of low.. needs more bass, and compression, especially on vocal. That's my verdict, nothing wrong with the playing or songs though! Nice back vocal on this one. Ok, maybe I hear a little bass.. :D Good lead solo!

Yeah I know Colors of the Fall and Vice..Are the crappy sound quality ones , but hey! those were our first recordings... we are learning everyday ;)

Tomorrow we are gonna do some more recording, and I'll make sure to post them for you.

Nick yes :P that's my guitar playing :P But I like Weak mostly because of the sound quality... I think the Vice Solo is much better than anything else is recorded here ;)

And yeah, we were a little bit of in colors of the fall. ( we don't use a metrenome hehe ) Also in Vice after the solo... we are a little of there.

Oh and writingwise..its Basically the vocalist and I that write the songs..I write mostly the music, and he writes the lyrics.. and then we bring it to the drummer...but lately we have been writing more stuff with the drummer asswell.

Jose! Awesome songs man! I like them a lot, Weak is my fav. tho. is the best mixed and recorded one...

Woah your drummer is pretty good, I can feel he's Tool influence alot, specially in Vice... I think the ending actually sounds like the ending of a song from them...Am I right?

I think that the songs are awesome, but they could be polished even more...Now, even tho I'm a drummer...and I now... We LOVE to be loud ass fuck! and stand out!... I think the drums could be a little bit lower in the mix...and bring up the guitars man!. I think the songs are missing energy and I think it's because the drums are kinda drowning everything...(try to keep them a little bit lower and put more guitars and bass) They are perfectly panned in my opinion.

The guitarwork is awesome , and your vocalist is pretty good too! however you could use some variation in the melodies, try singing with a little bit more emotion too, make him feel the song !.

Other than that your songs are great and you guys have some great potential in your hands..keep it up and rock out! You'll make it someday..I'm sure of that.

welll i listened to the first song, and thought the drums sounded a bit wierd. i was gonna make a comment on them but i threw on my headphones and they sound fine, i actually like them quite a bit though the phones. wierd eh... my speakers must be getting old. That snaer in particular, is what sounds great to me. it remeinds of of a kit we used to record with in the studio a while ago. I'm not a drummer but some things stick out like that for me.

In general the mix is pretty good. good guitar work too man.

SOME mp3s for all to enjoy.

I thought i would put a few tracks down in mp3 for all to listen to and so you can voice your opinions on the quality of recording and the quality of the songs. Remembering that they are only mp3s and sound abit different to the original wav file.

"So distant" and "4 Piece" are both acoustic songs written and recorded by me. I recorded them on a Boss br1180CD using a bad microphone that couldnt have cost more than £15! I think the recordings are quite good considering, apart from some levels and maybe a little distortion at times.

The other track is a dance/trance song i wrote on fruity loops and then exported it into my BR1180CD to master it using compression, limiters, eq etc.

Some truthfull feedback would be great from anyone.

Not a bad sound overall. Is that percussion in the back ground? sounds like a tabla or a djembe. Im probably wrong. Right, the vocals are too far away, probably just not leveled right at mixdown, the bak vox are too loud and should maybe take a bit of low eq off so they dont overpower the main vox. The snare sound really nice. WHat did you use? an SM58? Iv only used 57s and they dont sound too great. Good effort though, im sure it sounds alot better in wav format anyway.

I listened to "Fall" and I liked it musically. I think the recording could use a little work to balance the elements a little better, but as you say, you're still learning. So am I!

Nice songs...I like the quality drums are a tad and i mean a tad to loud i think but the songs are really good. Thank you for not making crap.

The band sounds good...talented, but as far as mixing i think it sounds kinda weak. On the colors of the fall one, drums sound terrible I think. Almost like it was recorded in a closet. They seem kind of compact if that makes sense. Especially the bass drum. Work on boosting around 120Hz and maybe some little high end...around 1500-3000Hz to get a little smack. Work on the levels too...the guitars are way too in the background while the drums and vocals are way up front. Make it sound more like a band that plays together and not on separate ends of the stage. Mic selection too could play a key part in getting the overall sound improved.
The Weak revised version sounds better than the Colors song...but still levels seem to not work well with eachother. I don't know, it just sounds muffled. I noticed minofifa said it sounded fine through headphones. Is that how you mixed the songs? Headphones are fickle. Usually for me after I mix and listen to it on a normal stereo the mix sounds a TON better or sounds a LOT worse. Something to keep in mind. Keep posting though, I like to hear what other people are doing!
 
Thumbs up for the band...

I like your stuff, you obviously have talent. I think the drums need more balls, but I know how hard it is to record drums (it's a black art, damn it). I'd also like to hear more bass guitar coming through, and a steadier mix on the vocals. But all in all a thumbs up, I can imagine you would put on a good live show.
