Rzzzzz!
Is this idea "sink" or "swim"?

For around $400 you can hook this doohicky to your phone line and (as long as your fellow phone jammers have one too) jam over the phone through real equipment in real time at high quality.

Supposedly you could colaborate on recording sessions in this way (however, I doubt that the sound quality is really THAT good).

Here's the question:

Since it requires that everyone invloved have one of these things, do you believe that it's worth getting?

Guess, I know what to vote for now:rolleyes:

It's a cool concept,

but it's hard to say if it will catch on. Hmmmmm. Wait & see.

IMO, as clever as it may be, the fact that everyone has to have a base unit, and the cost of the base unit, is prohibitive. I think most people would probably prefer to achieve the same type of thing, somehow, by running software on their existing computer, preferrably without having to buy special new hardware.

Anyway, that's just my first impression. I haven't seen anything on this product yet, so I'll just wait & see. Thanx for the tip. /DA

Jam-on-a-phone!!?? Nahhh!! I could use that $400 for another pre or a new mic!

I haven't seen it. However, given the higer bandwidths becoming available for Internet service, I'd probably rather use some form of 'Net jamming (as aluded to by A Real Person).
