sorry but i have to add the TASCAM 1804 cause thats the one im set on right now so i wanted to see some results

ive been researching this for getting my studio up and running. And from the info, reviews, and talking to ppl that own all, im purchasing the presonus firepod. I havent heard hardly anything bad about it. But on another note, Im thinking about adding a 1010LT also along with it.

Well there are a few.

The best one (for what you want) would be the fireface.

Check it out.

whhooaaa a bit to rich for my blood im only 16 thank you for the input though

my budget is $600

wow im surprised to see the firepod so highly reccomended above the tascam

dammit im not gonna lie i really want the tascam it looks alot nicer .... and when i say "looks" i really mean the way it looks

lol

is the firepod really that much better than the TASCAM

damn 0 votes for the 1804

i kinda had my mind set on it

hey man, so far so good with the firepod. I had previously used a friends digidesign M BOX, and the pres in the firepod IMO sound clearer and dont distort at higher gain like the Mbox did. Ive been recording acoustic guitar with a line in and AT3035 simultaneously and LOVE it so far. I did put in a Presonus tube pre to help fatten up the sound from the AT just messin around.

I'm a little less knowledgable than most around here but this is how I see it, it seems as if the pre's on the firepod and the tascam are similar even though I've only ad experience with the 1804(but don't own it). The Tascam would be a better choice if you are planning on using your own pre's instaed of the ones that are built in. The 1804 has 4 pre's while the firepod has eight so if you have seperate pres and wanted to use them the tascam would probably be better. With the tascam you can also add up to 18ins with the digital ins, I'm not sure about the firepod because I've never used one but i believe you can chain up another 2 units together for more inputs although I have seen quite a bit of complaints from people who have done this.

just some more things to think about,
