Sup~* After a lot of research and reading online about vocal booths, i went to home depot and started on mine. It cost me about $300. but thats excluding tools, cuz i borrowed one of my frens drill. *^^* it wasnt that complicating, just time consuming, and left me with a sore arm from all that drilling. my frens drill was heavy ass is, and i'm a girl~* kekek =-P took me about 2 weeks to complete it though, cuz i had to wait about a week and a half for the acoustic foam to come in the mail. so for a while i had 3 doors hinged together in my living rooom, just waiting for the foam. lolz. the results i got using the vocal. if a girl can do it, ya'll be able to do it too. and i did it by myself. only hard part was getting all the stuff up to my apt. by myself, KekEke ~~*

Home Depot
5 doors 30x80(i think), and 1 of the doors having a hole for the door knob(use the hole for cables and stuff.)- it was aprox. $17 for a door.

Enough hinges to hinge all 5 doors together (4 corners, u wanna not hinge one corner for the door)

Eough Screws for.... obviously duh~ for screwing. LoLz keke~*

2 2x4 1/2 inch plywood for the ceiling

2 door handles for the door

1 vent thingy ma jig thingy

1 small light thingy, so it won't be so dark and scare in there~*

2 orders of acoustic foam aprox. $140
i got the 2" wedge foam (48pk) 12x12x2 w/ 3" corner block(8pk) 3x3x24 including ahdesice spray

Wow. Cool. Thanks for sharing.

How is the sound difference between vocal booth vs non-vocal booth?

the vocal recordings are a lot better. WAY less noise, actually there's barely at all, and the sound is pretty dry. i'm satisfied. the amount of $ and effort i put into it... it was worth it *^^*

That's pretty creative and blends well into the apartment's exsisting look and space. Plus, you can take it along should you ever decided to move.

-Very cool-

can you play the monitors while your recording without the noise of them getting recieved by the microphone?

if you havent tried it yet could you see possibly, im very interested in this

it came out nice, good job

I seriously doubt that this booth is providing that kind of isolation. It will be fine for providing a nicle dry track for voiceovers or vocals, But I suspect that she is monitoring the recording herself on headphones if at all.

i still not done with everything. i still have to put up the acoustic foams behind the monitors, and a couple other places. yeah, i'm usually doing everything myself, so when im recording, the monitors are turned off, cuz i'm using my headphones. i only record vocals, and my goal was to get a dry sound, with minimal noise, and it did what i want it it to. so im happy with the results, if that's what your looking for, for under 300, i think it's pretty good ~* *^^*
