hi

this is my new acoustic track. it's the soundtrack to a short film (still in production). the film is based in the london underground. briefly; the film shows several scenes where a guy gets on the train every morning and sees a girl sitting near him. they obviously fancy each other but never seem to have the guts to go and speak. every morning she gets off at the tube station "angel". he looks disappointed every morning.

throughout the film they exchange more and more glances and smiles until eventually they both get off the train at the same time - again at the station "angel". that's the end of the film. obviously there's a lotl more funny / interesting stuff in there.

anyway, this song is the soundtrack - what do you think?

follow the link below, then follow "mp3 music" and click on "angel" - the first song listed. it sounds better on "hi-fi".

I'm a huge acoustic fan and writer of acoustic stuff, and I was impressed. It was very melodic and just is relaxing to listen to. Keep up the good work.

I think you have a professional sound...If I was walking down the street and someone drove by with that song playing loudly out of a car window I would automatically assume it was from a nationally released CD...and your song "I knew it was you" is one of my favorites that I have heard on this site (although I sort of thought the vocal was a little sharp or shrill and maybe needed a little more bassier EQ to it, but no one else said anything about this and I didn't want to sound stupid)...anyway although "angel" did have a professional presence I didn't like this song as much as "I knew it was you"...It just did not grab me and make me want to hear it again...there seemed to be a monotony to the guitar picking and as far as execution it sounded like there was some hesitancy in the guitar playing at times (did you use a metronome?)...I thought the execution of the vocal was without mistake and I liked the tone of voice also (I thought the vocal tone in "angel" was better than in "I knew it was you")...I am not a recording/mixing guru but I thought some of the quitar notes (sometimes when a single note was plucked) sort of jumped up into the mix was sort of distracting. Having said that I still found the song very listenable.

Yeah I liked Angel and all the rest of the songs too! I like the big airy sound you are getting. The vox and guitar tones are top notch. Very professional! I agree with mawtangent about the little hesitations on a few guitar notes. Maybe if you made it more obvious, or created a timing change it would sound more intentional. You guys are really talented!

Hey Adrian,

I have been listening to your stuff for awhile. great stuff. My wife is a huge fan. She loves you guys just from listening to your MP3's that I have played for her. Where can I find some album info. Also, i do mostly solo acoustic and you have the exact sound for guitar that I am looking for. what guitar? any pre? what kind of room? What mics? Thanks
