.......Well, kinda different. A lot of you have posted songs with your daughters or about your daughters, but I promise you this one will be slightly different.

This is my daughter, Sarah. She's a twenty year old music major in vocal performance at university. This song is from her Junior Recital last November.

It was recorded by the school, then they burned copies for the kids. I have no idea what techniques or equipment were used, other than it's stereo.

When we got our copy, the left channel was very weak compared to the right, and the overall volume was very low. So I balanced the 2 channels out a bit and normalized it so the audience noise would be more audible
:D Other than that, you're hearing it just as it was recorded.

Hope you like it, any comments welcome

WOW - That's obviously stellar. The only reason I'm commenting is because..."wow," have you heard her? LOL.

Kinda' adds a touch of class to the joint.

How much formal training has she had?

Thanks for posting this. She's amazing. Don't let Jaimee hear it, she'll bawl. LOL.

Bravo

Amazing voice/and control. Yikes, i aint letting my daughter hear this either:D .That was great twist, know your a proud pop eh? Thanks.

incredible.. that was one of the best things I've ever heard in the clinic!

this was a serious listen..

Hey thanks for the listen guys. She's the first one in the family to have real formal training, so yeah she outclasses all of us. She's been taking voice training since junior high, so I guess thats about 7or 8 years.

But please don't even compare her to your very talented daughters- Apples and oranges if you will. They are all awesome, in their own ways!

But hey, are there no talented sons here? Zeke, you don't count, you're already a prodigy.

I listened to this again. Whatever you did/invested to help her was time/money well spent.

Simply Excellent. I've never been a big fan of arias, but I've always been in awe of the talent and dedication required to pull something like this off.

excellent voice........sounds great........

whatever you did to tweak the track was likely a good job.......as i can't hear anything wrong with it at all

amazing voice

Wow squared

Beautiful. Words fail. They're insulting in the face of this talent, because none could adequately ... describe. Wow to the tenth power. Broad->way, here she comes!

damn twist. can she sing backup on my tunz. he he he he you should be real proud my friend.

could use some verb maybe. good piano too. he he he he he he

Needs more drums, and bass hehehe.

Man you can quit working and live off that talent.

Man what a voice, you must cry when you hear her sing!!

Thanks again Chris. Yeah, I don't usually listen to classical much unless she's singing!

Powder, I didn't mess with anything except the balance and overall level as I thought the original sound was already pretty good. I tried mixing to mono, but the stereo effect and ambience of the hall was lost, so I kept that as is.

Hey party pants, thanks for the listen. I know she'd like to hear that. But if she goes, I'll miss her. On the other hand, I'll have an excuse to go to NYC.

Sorry Wes, no photos, but I can assure you she is as lovely as her voice.

Hey Tom, I agree!

Thanks Dan, but I gotta get her to sing on some of mine first!

Hey GT, haven't you heard? Musicians don't make any money!
And yes, I do get a bit choked up sometimes.

Thanks for takin' the time everyone! Made my day!

twist. this is wonderful. she has a beautiful voice. you've gotta be very proud. nice change of pace from all of the country music around here :).

this will be in my playlist for a while i think. i'm a big debussy fan, but i haven't heard much of his vocal music. apparently my two year old has though. when i played this he immediately said, 'oh, i love this song dad'. man, if he grows up to be a classical musician i'll be in heaven.

She sounds great!! very nice contoll of the vocal dynamics on her part.. She can really put some power out when she needs to. She holds her timbre well throughout her range. That takes skill!
Great that you are encouraging her.

Fantastic!! Tell her to keep it up.

F.S.

Thanks again for the replies my friends! I showed her your comments - made her day, and mine. She's worked very hard and has earned the praise.(IMHO)

Excellent! What a talent! Great tone and control. Seems well-recorded, too - gets the full dynamic range without blowing out the high end. Lose her in the mix below the piano sometimes. But I know, you weren't the recordist.

Your daughter's really got something there. Is she a performance major?

beautiful. The emotion runs like water. Very accomplished. a pleasure, thank you :)
