Analog recording,

Hello all, I am very, very new to the recording thing, but I recently purchased a Yamaha mt4x recorder, I have it hooked up thru a pioneer amp, and a basic cassette deck so far all I have done is plugged in a small porta sound keyboard on track 1 and listened to what i have played,on headphones, I also play guitar,and have mics,my question is can anybody recommend any good books or websites for older technology on basic step by step procedures for recording on 4-tracks.

The best resource is the manual that came with the recorder. Beyond that ...ask away, there is as much knowledge here as anywhere.

what jake said - get into the manual and get hands on. lay down a track, lay down another track, add a vocal track, bounce the tracks to an open track, etc.... dive in and get familiar, and comfortable..... and that will open up a thousand more questions on specifics....
