Hey all, I am new to this forum I have a few questions.. I am building a home/semi pro studio from scratch and I have a few pieces of gear I am wondering about connecting. I realize there may be some redundancy here but I am new to this.. anyways.. I have a BEHRINGER EURODESK SX3242FX... I also have TASCAM US-16x08 USB Audio Interface and
ART Digital MPA-II 2-Channel Tube Microphone Preamp with A/D Conversion, now these all have preamps included but I wanted to add the tube amp and I got a good price on it so I figured why not.. I am wondering if it's okay to connect all of these and how that would work directly into computer/protools.. i know usually the analog mixer would connect into a multi track and then the files would be extracted?? but can i use this alongside my tube preamp and interface? Would the mixer be able to connect to the tube preamp and then into the interface and into protools? I don't have all the cables and computer set up yet so i am just trying to get a mental picture of how this will work. Thanks.

Ideally, if you're using the preamp in the MPA, it would just be MPA to DAW via interface's digital input. But I don't *think* the Tascam has a digital input. So you could go MPA line out into 1608 line in.

The SX could be used to hold the door open while you're moving everything else around.

Or you could hook the 4 sub outputs (the board doesn't have line outs) into 4 of the 1608's line ins and the MPA into the other two. Unless you want to make "half-click" cables so you can choose specific outputs on the SX using the insert points...

What are you trying to record? How many separate tracks are you trying to record at one time? (how many mic preamps do you need?)
