I'm thinking about purchasing an old Yamaha 2404 24-track analog board for use with recording with my Digi 002. Is there really any benefit to using the mixing board when really you can do the same thing in Pro Tools?

Advice needed.

Well, no you cant do the same thing in protools or any other daw, you can do so much more. The flexibility of a daw I dont think can be argued. Save mixes, 10 mixes of the same song if you like with total recall, etc. The real question I think is going to be the sonic differences of an analog console and protools ( OR WHATEVER DAW)and the ability to use many plugins compared to hardware with cost money
