One Hit Wonder
After two cover tunes that you guys have been kind enough to provide feedback on, this time I'm posting an original - "The Girl In The Light".

Any comments, ideas, feedback, critisism, would be much appreciated. Looking for any and all ways you think it can be improved.

Thanks, you guys are great (extra credit for sucking up??).

hey i listened to your track. its pretty cool,i wasnt expecting a "doo wop" style of song. very different. its not exactly my style, but i can appreciate it. great all around job!

Wow, I didn't know this was the style you did dachay2tnr, with your alias I expected something heavy rock. That part at 2:22 and 3:37 is way cool. Can't comment much on the mix, it's vocal oriented and I think you know the way it should sound. Mix sounds fine to me.

It was 1955 and there was a new singing quartet on the scene called "The Dachays". Sounds great, I can't really critize it. Of course it's not gonna make top 40 until that style of music comes back (which it probably will). A very pleasant uplifting tune. :) The mix sounds fine to me.

hi dachay2,

I liked the mix. no cmplaints there.
I also liked the tracking. awesome.

Everything sounds good. The only thing I could maybe suggest was adding some more bass frequencies to the bass voice.

peace

Nice Job!

Hi Dachay2,

Downloaded your song. Was pleasantly surprised. It reminded me of the stuff I used to play when I was a DJ back a LOOONG time ago. The mix is very good and clean for an MP3, though it has the typical MP3 loss of bass. I am betting that the original mix has a much fuller bass sound.

Regards,
Sonic Misfit

Thanks for all the feedback, guys.

While this group is, in fact, a doo wop harmony group, I didn't think this particular song really sounded "doo woppy". Perhaps it's the vocal bass that gives it that flavor. I've been thinking of doing another mix of it using a bass guitar.

Cyan, I'll have to compare the .mp3 to the .wav to see if there is a difference in bass quality. Maybe Sonic is right, but I'll check it out. Thanks for the input.

Very cool 50's tune! I like the mix...vocals up front with nice percussion. You achieved a nice 3 dimensional space. Nice work!
