An old song I written but would like to re-record

What is your opinion if I would re-record this? Vocals are somewhat mumbling..?

The twangy guitar part doesn't sound tight enough. If it was me, I wouldn't just re-record it, I'd re-write it so that I could play it tighter.

Sure, re-record it. Maybe for mix ideas listen to that old song from a decade or so ago called "Love Generation". Shoot for a sound like that. I reckon it'll fit well.

Its got the makings of a fine tune that...but yes, something gets a bit messy when that lead comes in. Too busy in fighting with the vocal. Much to like though. I wouldn't describe the vocal as mumbly

Vocals are swamped, drowning!

A rethink of the mix focussing on the instrument spread making space for the vocal will make a huge difference.
