I am just goinna put it out here for you aussies that have been around a long time. No newbies need reply or ask about this because I won't do it for you.

I keep reading more and more how Australian importers are putting it to you guys in the guitar department. And I know the major US retailers who discount won't circumvent the manufacturers distributors over there. I've seen cases where guitars are 3 times or more the cost what they are here.

But if there's something you want here in the US, I'd be more than happy to work it out with you and get it and ship it to you over there. I've shipped a couple guitars to Australia now and they cost $80-100US to get there by Global EMS.

I just wanted to put it out there for long timers who may not have a trustworthy US contact for such things. Just one of those pay it forward things. Hell, recording stuff, too. I've shipped mics and pres there, too. Just contact me by pm or email.

Hey H2H,

Many thanks for the offer.

Whether there is much to be saved depends a lot on the particular make and model of guitar. Aust., distributors, particularly the Gibson and PRS people have reduced their pricing to varying degrees over the last year due to the exchange rate so it is important for anyone considering buying a new guitar to do their homework first. We made major savings by targeting near new, second hand Les Pauls.......out of the dozen or so guitars my son and I have imported this past year, only one was new, one was a '69 ES-340 and all the others less than 2 years old in mint condition, I shouldn't forget there was a PRS in that lot too :) ..........btw, most of these have been sold on, Matt picked the eyes out of them and kept the "specials"

Will we be looking to import in the future.........probably not unless we sell more of what we've hung on to, but if we do, I'll contact you and see what we can work out.

That's good if they're cutting some slack. I was reading about how Musicman basses were like 3 times what they cost here, it was crazy. I mean, outside of actual shipping and taxes, they really shouldn't gouge you guys for any extra. It's just not fair.
