Hey guys/gals, I had a thought today. I've been uploading my band's music to last.fm in an effort to get it out there, http://www.last.fm/music/SilentJ. The biggest problem with last.fm, is that until you get some exposure, you don't get into rotation, and its hard to get exposure without being in rotation, rinse, lather, repeat.

I was thinking we could all band together somehow, form a group or a channel over there purely for tunes from HomeRecording.com people?

Any thoughts?

Could be a good idea. I, too, am on last.fm but haven't been getting many hits so I'm not in rotation at all.

I have requested an application, though I think that is just for me (Seafroggys) and not the artist (Justin Radford).

How would you go about adding me as an artist instead of me as a user?

I accepted your application, so you are in now. You should now be able to 1) approve other applications (I left this wide open to all members for now) and 2) should be able to associate your artist with the group.

I suppose I'll sign up for last.fm. *Sigh*.

Actually, I've been meaning to sign up for this site for some time. This has finally provided the incentive for me to actually do it.

Do you have to be a group member before you can listen to the group radio station?

I approved your application. So you should be good to go now. I hope/believe, that all members can approve the new applications. I believe that is how it is setup now. Once you are in, be sure to "connect" yourself as an artist, so you show up in the list, and your music gets added to our channel.

BV.

It appears the answer is No. I am viewing the group now, and I can open the station...unfortunately...our station is not yet operative yet. It seems like things on last.fm take a few days to get going.

Yeah, I finally had to sign up to last.fm in order to promote my album.

Speaking of which, I'm still waiting for an address so I can mail you your copy. I sent out an e-mail just now saying that its available for sale on CD Baby now.

Just a bump on this thread...we have four members over on last.fm in the Homerecording.com community/group. There is enough there now, that the homerecording.com "station" is now able to play consistently and is mixing in our stuff with other artists. It'd be great if we had more homerecording.com material out there though, please consider joining, and adding your stuff.

Yeah, I need to upload some stuff to that place. Forgot all about it.

thanks for putting in the effort for this! I am at work and the site is blocked. I will sign up when I get home. Walter

I applied to your group, need to be approved. Do you only want stuff recorded at home? I didn't produce the stuff for my bands..

There were two pending members, and I just accepted both of them. So I'm sure one of them was you :)

Bump. Hey guys...nothing new, I am just trying to bump this thread to get more of us on the channel. Please check it out, http://www.last.fm/group/HomeRecording.com/.

The more artists we get on there, the better the channel will be, and the more exposure we can all get.
