Hi guys,

I'm a voice teacher and I would like to find a piece of equipment that will allow me to teach my students without using a keyboard. It would need to be able to record a variety of scales for both female/male vocal ranges. It also needs a function where I can ascend or descend wherever I want. Does anyone out there know of such an equipment? I really would like to buy one. Thanks in advance!!

Computer-based audio recording is the most flexible option that comes to mind.

You would need an audio interface, a mic, and recording software like Reaper.

The only way I can see doing the different scales would be to actually record the scales and save them for playback as demos of the various techniques.

Kinda curious why you want to avoid using a keyboard. A MIDI keyboard combined with a laptop would be portable and would provide reference pitches on demand.
