Wtf is a PRS
NOt sure if this is the best place for this problme but seeing as i use this software it safely the best place to start.....

Just got a copy of the Steinberg Plug in Amplitube ....

not sure how to make it work. im completely lost.

Im currently using CEP 2.0 im going to assume it doesnt supprot any type of VST plugins.

In which case .... what can i get to use this plug-in.

Would adobe Audition support this?

Would Cakewalk work? I just really want to use this software (amplitube) for my recording but ..... im going to be a puss puss and say i dont want ot re-learn new software.

But i get a sneaking suspicion im going to have to.

HELP!!!!! PLEASE!!!

I use it in Cubase. Not sure about Cakewalk but I believe it would work. You are right -- whatever you use, it has to support VST plugins.

I've never done this, but apparently you can download a free 'wrapper' that will enable stuff like Cool Edit to work with a VST plug.

this all sounds so wondeful.

what is a wrapper?

Im going to install a version of cakewalk and see what it does. I might even have cubase around somewheres i might check into that as well.

Editor,.... overall how do you like Amplitube?

CEP 2.0 can only use VST plugins with a wrapper program, and it cannot do "live" input monitoring at all, to use Amplitude in real time you would need to step up to software that can monitor a plugin effect in real time at low latency.

:)

I've only been playing with this type of thing for a little over a year now but as far as I know, a wrapper is like a sub-program that translates things for the host program (ie, Cakewalk, Cool Edit, etc.) My Fruity Loops didn't have a Soundfont player so I Googled up a free Soundfont player (wrapper). I dropped that in my Fruity Loops plugins directory, it appears in the plugins list & when I open it in the main program (Fruity) it lets me load a soundfont & adjust it.

I think it's great! It was my first experience with amp modelling & virtual FX. If you're familiar with the Pod or V-AMP ... same thing. (I just bought a V-AMP2 just so I could produce the tones/sounds live)

I think there's an Amplitube group on Yahoo if you want more info/feedback.

BTW I just have a demo of an old, old version of Cubase. It works sometimes but as far as I can tell, it's overkill if you're just interested in home foolin' around. Right now I'mtrying to get Audacity up & running. Not as many features by far but it's free :)
