hey there, anybody know of a known problem with ampegs new b200r bass amps? I bought one on ebay that was not working. wouldn't power up. did a google of them and ran across a thread in a rickenbacker forum about a guy that had one and it peaked and then blew the fuse. another guy responded saying he bought one new, got it home and it blew the fuse, took it back got it replaced with another amp, and it did the samething. Blew the main 4 amp fuse. So i think hmmmmm, i bet the fuse is blown on the one on ebay. so i got it for 200 bucks. sure enough, the fuse is blown . put a new fuse in it, and turn it on, and it buzzes badly for a second, then blew the fuse. Since i'm not the original purchaer, i'm not sure if they will honor any ype of warranty issue. It looks like it was manufactured on the 17 jan, 2007 . so it's only a couple months old. the electronics are warranted for 5 years, and the speaker for two. The thing appears to be brand new. Any ideas??

On their website, they say they wil honor it if you have the original receipt.

dont know if they've changed their policy but the warrantees used to be transferable... sorry i dont know that amp specificlly (is it solid state?)but sounds like the outputs are getting dc from a previous stage... careful the speaker will blow if not careful...

yea, the warranty is transferable, but ineed a copy of the original sales receipt. I contacted the seller and they got no paperwork with it at all, but she told me that it was originally purchased through mucicians friend. So i'm going to pursue that route...waiting to hear from Ampeg meanwhile....
