Amp question

I was given JBL pro 111 monitors. I imagine there not the greatest, but was used in studios. I believe these are passive and needs an amp. Can anyone suggest names I can check out. Small budget, maybe around $300 - 500. Or is it worth scrapping these (Unless these are actually considered good) and saving for good active monitors or good passive with good amp. thanks for any info.

see if you can find a Crown DC300 series II, they go cheap enough. Maybe an Art SLA2 or SLA1 for that $$ range
take a look at the speakers I think they have a 2416 driver for the highs they should be able to take a beating at least.
