Amp modelers

I'm planning on getting the Delta Omni setup for my 800mHz pentium w/ 1/2 gig RAM.

Could anyone recommend good amp modelers for both guitar and bass? I want to go straight into the PC and use only headphones for feedback.

I have a POD and I like it very much. But there are many alternatives, for varying costs-- I would try them all if you can and choose which one works best for your needs and budget.

with the omni studio you can plug your guitar directly into the pc ..i.e., the omni breakout box ...i've done this and have used a plug in called "ReValver" with Sonar and have recorded tracks with full guitar amp simulation...since it's a plug in, your tracks are recorded 'clean' so you can change the amp sounds later...however, this can prove a pain when you want to mix everything down.....IMHO computers aren't guitar friendly yet.

for direct guitars into a line input, without using ReValver, i'd probably go with a sans amp and then break out the plug ins. the sans amp bass DI box is very nice...i wish i had one.
