I'm trying to make a homemade version of the gramma by auralex. So far I have a carpet on a particle board (This is where the amp rests). I have the partivle board supported by wood blocks underneath. Now I need something to put on the bottom of the wood blocks to put onto the floor. What do I need? Can I use carpet? Or should I take a square of studio foam and cut it to the wood blocks' size?

Hey

I'm only posting here so that I can be notified when somebody responds to your querry.

Unfortunately I can offer no help. I do know that cabinets are 'tuned' as I've seen some freeware software that let's you make calculations.

I would surmise that the same is true for the isolation cab, irrespective of the fact that you don't actually want to hear anything coming out of it.

Let's hope somebody posts something.

Well, the "Gramma" thing has blocks of foam under the platform. So I guess if you're trying to build a copy of it....do that. :D

He's not talking about an isolation cab, just a platform to isolate the amp from the ground.

Yea, I'll go with foam on the bottom, can't wait to mic it up!
