I need to learn about this stuff, so maybe I can learn from your wisdom as you help me figure out this hookup i need to figure out.

I have some Yamaha speakers that are 80 watts program, 8 ohms nominal, and 6 ohms minimum. i dont get what this minimum thing is?

There is an amp i'm looking at that is 125W per channel at 8 ohms, and 250 at 4 ohms. This seems way too strong but is it bad for it? it's the cheapest amp i could find...

thanks for any responses

Nope, it won't hurt a thing. It is a good match for those speakers. It is quite hard to blow speakers by overpowering them...more often the amp is damaged by under powering a speaker.

Do a search on ohms law in google.

nice!
thanks a lot. so i would run it at 8 ohms right?
